“Since the first time I have taken my dogs to Paws and Claws I have been super satisfied with their service. I have a very hyper lab and a very furry Golden Retreiver. The shop has always been so wonderful to my dogs and make them clean and beautiful. I got a call the first time I took my dogs there from Mindy asking if she could muzzle my dog because he was not very happy about the grooming on his hind end. I told her yes, but please talk to him while doing it. She said of course. She has never had to do this process again with my dogs. I think that she has earned their trust as she is so patient and calming. I would not take my two boys anywhere else! And for the comment below a generous tip is not 10 dollars for 2 dogs!!!!”

“I just moved here from the east coast, asked areound and everyone I alked to recommended Mindy's Paws and Claws. I was a little worried about leaving my dog lady there because she has her little issues. When I came to pick her up, not only was she wagging her tail, she just seemed very happy. To me THAT says it all! The staff were very friendly, place was very clean and smelled great. I have to say, Ive been in a lot of grooming shops and those words dont usually end up all in one sentence for a grooming shop!! Lol.. I felt compelled to write on this page and say, Thanks! LadY and I appriciate you guys!”

“I have not only been bringing my dogs and cats to Mindy's for as long as Ive had them, but Im also a close family friend, and i know that Mindy would never intentionally harm any of her customers, (pet or owner) verbally, physically, or otherwise.
She has always been extremely patient and caring, even when dealing with difficult customers. She never leaves animals unattended, and always strives for the absolute best customer satisfaction. She even makes periodic phone calls to the customers to ensure their visit was to their satisfaction. And if there are any problems, questions or concerns, she encourages them to be expressed, and will always try to fix the problem/concern.
She will drive to peoples houses to pick up their pets, if there is a scheduling conflict, she keeps some sort of special going at all times, for the convenience of her clients, and she does an exponentially better job with the animals than all the other grooming shops in Western Washington combined. Mindy is the only person that I trust to groom and care for my pets.
Mindy and her grooming shop deserve all 5 stars that I give her. I recommend her to anyone and everyone who have pets, or plan on getting pets.”

“I just found this site and feel compelled to say that while during the year and a half, I took my dogs to the shop, I was very satisfied with the quality of grooming...however my last experience was so traumatic from the perspective of Mindy's behaviors that I was totally shocked. A few hours after having been into the shop I returned home to find a scathing phone message. I could not decipher what problem had triggered this call, she had not been in the shop while I was in, her brand new assistant had received my dogs and when I returned to pick them up Mindy was not in the shop. I called the shop and told Mindy I had found a message from her but could not figure out what it was about. She proceeded to launch into a tirade laced with very derogatory language. I kept trying to tell her I honestly did not know what this was about and she simply would cut me off and begin once more to berate me. As best I could understand the new employee had told her I had been rude to her about the length of time the groomig took that day. I kept trying to verify the issues and was continuously treated with great disrespect. Mindy made no attempt to ask me what might have ocurred and simply chose to attack me unwarrantedly. In fact it had taken not the usual two and a half hours to groom my five pound and eight pound dogs (tiny and easy to groom) But rather took close to six hours...I had called several times to check on whether they were done and ready for pick up. When I picked the dogs up I had explained to the employee (very politely) that the reason I was commenting about the length of time it took was because it was an extraordinarily long time far in excess of any previous appointments and was very difficult on the dogs to be in tiny cages and go so long without food, water, or access to relieve themselves ...the employee said she had been left with only one dryer and it consequently took a very long time to dry all the dogs that were groomed that day. I told the employee I fully realiaed it was not her fault this occured and that I would talk to Mindy about it and I also tipped the employee very generously ($10.00). I never was able to share any of this information with Mindy because she would not stop her verbal attack so I could say anything. All I could glean was that according to Mindy the employee said I had been grossly rude to her (totally untrue, I am a long time professional and even teach customer service, it not my style to ever behave in that manner.) I had never encountered anything untoward in the past and was frankly astounded...I finally told her it was not, in my opinion, good customer service to rip a strip off the customer, without asking what had occurred and getting the customer input. This was totally unsuccessful and Mindy continued her diatribe. I finally told her I was hanging up because she was clearly having some difficulty and I would talk to her another time when she was able to do so without shouting at me. She continued on expressing her self in the same bombastic manner until I said I was hanging up and would talk to her later and I hung up. I was very shaken and still had no idea what had transpired.
I later received a call from another employee who indicated the new employee and Mindy were not in the shop at that time and she wanted to apologize for what had occurred. She then explained that the new employee was upset over the lack of operating equipment and when I expressed my concern about the length of time my dogs had been kept she concluded I was going to complain to Mindy about her,and she was afraid she would lose her job. (I was not...and in fact had told the new employee I realized the delay was not her fault.) The long time employee who was calling me went on to say the new employee did lie about my behavior, she knew I was unfailingly polite and very generous with tips. She offered to make sure when I scheduled appointments she would make sure it was when Mindy was not usually in the shop. I explained I would not return, that it went beyond simply risking Mindy's poor behaviors again, and was a matter of not supporting Mindy's business income after she had exhibited such inappropriate and verbally assaultive behavior to a long time good customer who had never been other than courteous. After that time when I would caution people to think hard before going to Paws and Claws, I repeatedly was told numerous stories of Mindy's legendary and well known hair trigger temper, unreasonable rants, and inappropriate treatment of people at large...the general consensus being that while Mindy is a good technical groomer, that she does not treat the dogs well when the owners are not around to see what she does. One former client shared having received a call from Mindy, telling her to come and pick up her dog because the dog had been grossly resistant to grooming and now wasn't behaving well afterward. The customer found her four yr old dog (previously always very calm and cooperative with grooming over the years) whimpering, unable to use one leg, limping badly and clearly in distress. The customer took the dog immediately to the other side of the building and the vet saw the dog at once...the dog had sustained significant injury to its leg and shoulder and required emergency surgery and an additional surgery a few days later to repair the damage. Mindy would not take any responsibility for the injuries sustained by the dog who was alone with her when it was injured, and sge would not cover any of the considerable costs associated with the surgeries needed to repair the damage...damage which left the dog with permanent residual limp. So...while my decision to not return to Paws and Claws was based only on my experience, it became very clear that this was not an out of the ordinary event and that to protect my animals, I would not take my dogs to her shop again.”

    I'm satisfied with the service

“I brought my dog there 3 weeks ago at the recommendation of our realtor and it's my first time to be there. So far, Mindy the owner is very accommodating, she took care of my dog personally and I was satisfied with the service she had provided. My dog came in with long matted hair and came out clean, fresh smelling with manicured nails and freshly cleaned teeth. Great service at a reasonably good price. I would definitely bring my dog back there.”

“Check out the other grooming shop's in the Yelm area. This shop is the worst. Looks great on the front side. I know personally a bather that worked for the owner Mindy. She told me that the owner is terrible to the dogs. she will answer the phone and leave the dogs on the table, and didn;t care when a few of then jumped and were hooked. Go else where...”
