    Lion Cut for Maya

“Im getting ready to take my 20lb cat Maya to Freddie for a lion cut and came on line to remind my self of the street address since it's been awhile and I come from downtown Cleveland to go The Dog House. Since I found this review site I wanted to post how wonderful she is with my cat. Maya is large cat (umm, big-boned) with long hair and she gets matted easily. When she does rather than cause her pain combing her out, I have her shaved. She looks just like a Dr. Seuss character when she is done - adorable. Anyway, I love how gentle Freddie is with the animals and the special attention given to my cat who usually the only one there among all the doggies! They do an amazing job on her - she looks wonderful when she comes home. This will be about the 4-5th time I am taking her to The Dog House and I am confident she will be well cared for and beautiful when she comes home.”

“Freddie and the staff at the dog house are awesome. I appreciate a groomer who is honest when it comes to taking care of my dog. She always know when I am not grooming my dog on a regular basis by the amount of matting in the dogs legs. Freddie lets me know that I should take better care of my pet. Thank you Freddie for always looking out for the care of my dog and always doing a marvelous job with Lucky and Louis. I know they don't like to get groomed but, they always come back looking and smelling wonderful. I have recommened your services to all my dog friends.”

“The only reason your dog would be shaved is because he was dreadfully matted. The reason he threw a fit when you brushed him was because he was already knotted and in pain and you were making it worse. Shaving him down saved him from getting bruised and open sores due to the neglect of his baby fine coat. And the reason he acted up for the groomer and for you after the groom is because you already traumatized him before even taking him to a professional. Your puppy had a cross hair type and you probably had no knowledge of how to properly care for it, because its a defective hair type due to mixing breeds. Please do not blame a wonderful and caring shop for your transgressions. The girls at the doghouse did your dog a huge favor, but he is probably even more matted today than he was before his groom, and you're probably still brushing those mats and making them more painful for him, and the next groomer will more than likely turn you away at the door.”

    Terrible experience

“Do not take your puppy to The Dog House. When I called I explained I have a 3 month old YorkiePoo that I would like to have bathed, nails trimmed, and generally spruced up a bit. More concerned with training him for full grooming and clipping later. I told them that he doesn't care for the brush or comb and generally cries when I brush him, even if it's very gently. So they said no problem bring him in, I felt great thinking these people will take great care of my puppy. Needless to say after 3 hours I called to check on him, she said he was not cooperating and she kept having to put him away and work on other dogs for two reasons first being I was 10 minutes late and secondly because he kept crying and screaming. So I went to get him, and arrived to find my cute furry 3 month old YorkiePoo had been shaved with clippers. I didn't want him shaved I did explain I wanted him to have bath and general cleaning up but no clippers only scissor cut if possible in areas needed. The girl told me he was bad and would need a lot of training and might even need to be sedated to be groomed. Interesting considering he's a puppy and the point of an early grooming was to train him for later full grooming. So I would NEVER recommend this groomer to anyone, my poor puppy I just tried to gently brush him as I have done daily for the past several weeks and he cried and screamed like I never seen before. I will be looking for a new groomer at this point. Please do not take your dog here!!!”

“Freddie and her staff go above and beyond to help their clients. When I was recovering from an operation and had no way to get my dog to them, they picked her up and brought her home. The only groomer that would do this for me. They are friendly to people and pets, wouldn't take my baby any place else!”

“I drive from Shaker to Lakewood just for them. I've tried others on this side, but they just don't seem to get the same attention. No one cuts nails better and they always come back just beautiful and smelling great.”
