I have been using Dr. Baber for several months & have found him compassionate, humble and likeable person. He is a country vet-the old school kind- the BEST kind...if you want down to earth pet medicine and a man who CARES about people and animal health-he's your man. the rest of you need to get some real perspective on life! EVERYONE makes mistakes and, as with Dr. Baber, it makes you a better person-so stop your grandious smug finger shaking and take a good look in the mirror-was what you see born perfect? NO! you claim he is without compassion-then you never met him- and your rude accusations show you are exactly what you are accusing him of being-without compassion!

Let others know what you think of Baber Bill DVM.

I would recommend this company to a friend.

Big mistake in giving this guy his license back. He is a sick, deranged psychopath that shouldn't be allowed to own pets much less perform his type of services on them. Keep his name in mind (William Baber), he is the type that will eventually perform his barbaric methods on people. Remember Manson, Gein, Bundy, Dahmer and Gacy. They all started out abusing and killing animals indiscriminately.

Baber is one of those Vets in this line of work strickly for the money. He lacks any compassion toward animals otherwise he wouldn't be sticking them in the heart without sedating first. He wouldn't be standing on their heads while he kills them. He wouldn't be laughing and joking about how long it takes some of them to die his painful death. If you take your pet to him you are supporting a sadistic, sick individual with no moral conscience.

So today we hear that this barbarous killer of animals walks free and is allowed to continue his practice! What a joke. i believe its time to march in protest in front of this idiots so-called office and let people know that their pets deserve a vet with feelings.

Dr. Baber has always taken care of my animals. He has been a great vet, and I will continue to use his services for as long as possible. He is a nice person, and has fair prices.

This man somehow still has his license. Where is the justice? Dr. Baber should be in jail.

I wouldn't let this man treat anything living.

There's something wrong with Baber.

It is my understanding William (Bill) Baber has an active vet practice in Gallatin, TN. Someone with so little compassion towards animals should have gone into a different line of work. Maybe at a slaughter house or something. Somewhere he can get his kicks and it would be legal. I also called Hank Thompson’s office to remind him the Sumner County shelter does very little to get their dogs and cats adopted out. I was told for the second time today that he was “out”. Most shelters in TN at least have a Petfinder account. My account got over 2400 views last week. Sumner County shelter hasn’t even invested the time into setting up one. Apparently it is less labor intensive to Heart Stick these animals.

Hank Thompson (Sumner County Executive) needs to go as well. He defended Baber's methods and instead placed the blame on the public. There's no way around euthanazia but that doesn't mean it can't be done humanely.

GALLATIN, Tenn.- A Sumner County vet is under fire for his controversial method of putting down dogs and cats. Undercover video shows him sticking lethal injections straight into their hearts.

It is against local, state and national guidelines to put down animals by sticking lethal injections straight into the hearts of animals. An investigation revealed the problem could have been corrected months ago.

Veterinarian Bill Baber was seen on tape doing it time and time again at Sumner County Animal Control. Animal advocates call the practice cruel because if the vet misses the heart, dogs and cats writhe in pain for minutes, even hours. Several witnesses said they saw just that while working for Dr. Baber.

After hearing rumors that animals were being put down cruelly local euthanasia technician Diana Townsend said she offered to do the county's euthanasia for free several months ago.

"I heard of the practices going on there, and went to the county executive Hank Thompson and volunteered to euthanize for free," said Townsend.

But Thompson said no thanks choosing instead to stick with Baber.

The county only let her do so once a week. Townsend said she now wants to help the county build a new, more humane shelter. Townsend works at a non-profit organization called Safe Place for Animals.

"We can extend the hours, increase adoptions, spay, neuter, microchipped, vaccinate animals before they go for adoption," said Diana Townsend, Euthanasia Technician.

Townsend said a new shelter can do all those things on the county's current animal control budget of $630,000 a year. But County Executive Hank Thompson is hesitant to commit to such a project if it's controlled by volunteers because he said it doesn't give taxpayers any control over where their money is going.

The method of euthanizing dogs and cats by heart injecting them without using sedatives is against local, state and national guidelines.

Don't let this man touch your dogs. What a sick-o. He's a creep. I hope they put him away for a long time. I have some other ideas of what should be done with him and it involves something outlawed along time ago in the south, but even that would be too good for him.

Cold hearted B@STARD kills dogs with a "heart" shot....but because he's so gung ho about getting all the money he can, he "sometimes" misses the heart causing the animal's yelping, pain, and suffering before he lets them stagger off and die. For video and documentation, see WTVF, WSMV, and WKRN. DO NOT LET THIS MURDERER CONTINUE. BTW.....our Sumner County tax dollars have paid for this and I'm SICK about this.
