When we picked our dog up from Rivermist Kennel at the end of last summer I asked about his stay. The woman at the desk said all went well. We noticed he was dirty and tired. I thought he just needed to be home with us a while to clean up and rest. However, once we were home I discovered that his tail was not just drooping with fatigue. It had been seriously injured. The tail hung limply at a sharp right angle. Upon looking more closely I realized it was swollen and painful to the touch. It also turned out that he had a staff infection covering most of his belly. I called the kennel to ask about his condition and they never returned my call. It took 3 rounds of antibiotics and visits to the vet to clear up the staff infection. Fortunately, his tail gradually recovered over the next couple of weeks.
