This place is a disgrace, the staff is rude, the owner Penny claimed she knows how to groom "Airedales" and he came out shaved from head to toe, she obviously had never seen one before, and if she had googled Airedales, she would have taken her time, and trimmed him like an Airedale, not like a greyhound, she would have used a dematting comb as he had a few mats. In the six years I have had him this is the worse cut he has ever had, I was upset when had his beard shaved off last summer, but the girl was young and new, and he at least had body hair. If you have a terrier and want him to look like a terrier, stay away from this place. The staff kicked him on the way out when he snifffed a cat, I can only imagine the abuse he had in the kennel, they are rude on the phone, and she kicked him right in front of me. I'm calling the BBB, as I heard other comments to stay away, I didn't trust my instincts, I do now. OH, and on top of the trauma my dog and I endured, she had the odasity to charge me 85.00 as she said he was matted, I wonder if she knows what a dematting comb is, he was just groomed 3 months ago, shes lazy, and didn't have the time to comb him out so her alternative was shave him off and then overcharge me, the standard rate for an Airedale cut is 55.00 tops.

I am happy I have read these reviews. We just moved here from Michigan, and have two Wheaton terriers. I can understand the anguish Rita is under with her Airedale, as this has happened to my two Wheatons before. When you give thwm specific instructions and you come back to find your dog shaved it is not only devastating to you, but to the dogs. They sense everything. I read a bad review a former emplyee wrote as well. I will tell my friends who have terriers or any dog, to find a groomer other than VIP. Call local Veterinarians etc, when you move to a new State and this happens, it is a trauma, and the fact they charged her is outrageous. I hope she reported them, and more people read her post as well as the employee who worked there and saw the abuse to the animals. The Airedale seemed to be abused not only in the grooming aspect, but was physicaly
kicked in front of her. I'd sue.

They tell you your dog will be let out at least five times a day... nope, that's only if they find time. They'll be let out maybe three times at best for no more than 5 mintues at a time. After a few months with them, I took myself down to Valley Animal Hospital for a new job. I'd reccommend taking your dog there if you need a day care for your baby while you're away. Cats also get a better set up there. I would not trust VIP Grooming to take care of my babies while I was out of town. NEVER. « Hide
